Prince Osman Digna Port in Suakin recorded active operations during August 2026, with a total of 77 vessels arriving and departing, in addition to substantial passenger, vehicle and cargo movements. Port statistics showed that 39 vessels arrived between August 1 and August 31, while 38 vessels departed. Total passenger traffic reached 29,498, including 10,766 arriving passengers and 18,732 departing passengers. The port also handled 4,332 vehicles, including 4,115 arriving and 217 departing vehicles. In terms of operational and service activity, the port recorded the movement of 1,105 refrigerated trucks, including 635 arrivals and 470 departures. A total of 485 clearance operations were completed, including 229 inbound and 256 outbound operations. The movement of household-goods trailers totaled 148, including 102 arrivals and 46 departures, in addition to 3,387 incoming pallets. Total cargo throughput reached 41,468 tonnes, including 30,202 tonnes of imports and 11,266 tonnes of exports. These indicators reflect the continued role of Prince Osman Digna Port in providing maritime and logistical services and supporting the movement of passengers, goods and maritime transport along the Red Sea coast.BH/BH
