Amman, Sep. 30 (Petra) – HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center, met on Tuesday with partners from Ma’an, Tafilah, and Aqaba, as well as beneficiaries and supporters of the Jordan Breast Cancer Program (JBCP), which operates under the leadership of Center.
HRH Princess Ghida stressed the importance of regular screening for early breast cancer detection, saying, “Early breast cancer screening must be a top priority. It is no longer acceptable to lose women unnecessarily due to fear or stigma surrounding cancer.”
The JBCP provides comprehensive services for women in southern Jordan, including health education and access to screening sites. Special bus trips are organized to transport women from various governorates to the early detection unit in Aqaba, ensuring access to high-quality medical services.
The meeting coincides with the launch of the tenth annual National Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign under the slogan “You Are the Foundation, Get Screened,” which aims to encourage women to undergo regular screenings for early detection.
