Amman, Jan. 22 (Petra)– The Public Security Directorate (PSD) carried out a “large-scale” environmental campaign to clean the seabed in southern Aqaba Governorate, as part of its ongoing efforts to protect the marine environment and promote relevant awareness among residents and visitors.
In a statement Thursday, the campaign featured underwater field operations to remove harmful marine debris and waste from the seabed, conducted by Civil Defense divers, in cooperation with personnel from the Royal Department for Environmental and Tourism Protection.
On future vision, the PSD said it will continue implementing environmental initiatives and campaigns, aimed at raising relevant public awareness and maintaining cleanliness and safety of public spaces, tourist sites, and recreational areas across the Kingdom.
