Amman, July 7 (Petra) Director of the Public Security Directorate (PSD) Major General Obaidallah Maaytah met on Monday with European Union Ambassador to Jordan, Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, to discuss ways to enhance a strategic partnership between the PSD and the EU.
During the meeting, Maaytah stressed the PSD is committed to advancing cooperation with the EU, which saw the implementation of several high-impact projects aligned with the best international standards. He praised the EU’s continued support across various security, humanitarian, and community domains.
Maaytah highlighted the importance of harnessing regional and international efforts, combined with the best security expertise, to address emerging and cross-border crimes, strengthen criminal justice, and provide top notch services to all segments of society.
For his part, Chatzisavas commended the PSD’s high security standards and capacity to adapt to evolving security developments and community needs.
He stressed the EU’s commitment to providing all forms of support to enable the PSD to continue its vital role in promoting security and societal stability.
