Amman, Jan. 9 (Petra)– The Public Security Directorate (PSD) has renewed its call on citizens to take necessary precautions in light of the prevailing weather depression affecting the Kingdom.
The PSD stressed the importance of staying away from low-lying areas, flood-prone locations, valleys, and watercourses, and ensuring that homes located below street level are equipped with water pumps to remove accumulated rainwater.
The Directorate also urged motorists and pedestrians to exercise the highest levels of caution while traveling, to remain alert to road hazards, and to comply with the instructions of Public Security personnel deployed in the field to provide assistance when needed.
In addition, the PSD emphasized the safe and proper use of all types of heating devices, the importance of ensuring adequate ventilation from time to time, and the need to secure objects that could be displaced by strong winds. These include zinc sheets, nets, metal panels, and water tank covers on rooftops.
The Public Security Directorate called on citizens not to hesitate to contact the emergency number 911 whenever assistance is required.
