Muscat, July 18 (QNA) – Qatar’s squad advanced to the semifinals of the Second West Asia Men’s Volleyball Championship, currently underway in Muscat, Oman.
The team secured their second victory of the tournament by defeating Kuwait in straight sets in Group A. The tournament runs through July 22.
Qatar’s players sealed the match with set scores of 28-26, 25-16, and 25-14, confirming their top spot in Group A after opening their campaign with a three-sets-to-one victory over Syria.
With this win, Qatar’s team, the defending champions of the inaugural edition, secured their qualification to the semifinals alongside Kuwait.
The tournament features seven teams, with Group A comprising Qatar, Kuwait, and Syria, while Group B includes Oman, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Lebanon. (QNA)
