Ostrava, May 29 (QNA) – Qatar’s beach volleyball team of Ahmed Tijan and Sherif Younousse continued their strong run at the Ostrava Elite16 in the Czech Republic with a second victory in the tournament.
The Qatari pair defeated France’s Elouan Chouikh and Joadel Genevieve-Gardoque in straight sets, 21-15 and 21-17, in their third Group Two match.
The duo had earlier lost a closely contested second-round match to Americans Taylor Crabb and Andrew Benesh in three sets, after opening the tournament with a straight-sets win over Latvia’s Bedritis and Rinkevics.
The Ostrava tournament, part of the International Volleyball Federation’s Beach Pro Tour Elite16 series, continues until Sunday and features many of the world’s top-ranked teams. (QNA)
