Qatar Charity, Morocco’s Ibn Sina University Hospital Center Sign Agreement to Support Children with Congenital Heart Defects

Doha, July 19 (QNA) – Qatar Charity has signed a framework cooperation agreement with Ibn Sina University Hospital Center in Morocco to support life-saving treatment for children with congenital heart defects.

This will expand these children’s access to specialized medical care that can improve their health and long-term quality of life, according to Qatar Charity’s press report on Sunday.

Under the agreement, support will focus on interventional cardiac catheterization procedures for children with congenital heart defects, a highly specialized area of medicine, the press report added. This advanced technique can treat certain heart defects without open-heart surgery, reducing surgical risks, accelerating recovery, and improving children’s long-term quality of life.

These procedures require advanced equipment and specialized expertise, making them costly and often beyond the reach of low-income families, Qatar Charity noted.

It added that the partnership therefore carries significant humanitarian value by helping ease this burden for families in need, enabling children from underprivileged families to receive high-quality cardiac catheterization services and strengthening Ibn Sina University Hospital Center’s capacity to manage complex cases.

The organization pointed out that the agreement reflects Qatar Charity’s strategic approach, implemented through its office in Morocco, to building effective institutional partnerships with various actors.

As one of Morocco’s leading university healthcare institutions, Ibn Sina University Hospital Center has specialized expertise and advanced capabilities in treating complex medical cases, making the partnership a crucial step in strengthening pediatric cardiac care services. (QNA)
