Doha, March 12 (QNA) – HE Shura Council Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim met Thursday in Doha with HE Neerav Patel, the United Kingdom’s ambassador to the country, where the two discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed relations between the State of Qatar and the United Kingdom, particularly parliamentary cooperation and ways to strengthen and develop it.
They also discussed the latest developments in the region and the ongoing military escalation.
HE Al Ghanim reiterated the Shura Council’s condemnation of Iranian attacks on Qatar and the targeting of its infrastructure.
He said the attacks constituted a “blatant violation” of Qatar’s sovereignty and a breach of international law, the United Nations Charter and established ethical norms.
HE the speaker warned of the serious consequences such attacks could have on security and stability in the region and globally, calling for them to stop immediately.
For his part, HE the UK ambassador expressed his country’s condemnation of the attack on Qatari territory and affirmed Britain’s full solidarity with Doha. (QNA)
