Doha, August 10 (QNA) – Qatar has been drawn alongside Iran, Jordan and Chinese Taipei in Group B of the men’s basketball competition at the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
The Games will be held in Nagoya, Japan, from Sept. 19 to Oct. 4, with 12 teams divided into three groups of four.
Group A includes Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, while Group C features China, the Philippines, Bahrain and Kazakhstan.
Qatar will open its campaign against Iran on Sept. 10, followed by Jordan on Sept. 12 and Chinese Taipei on Sept. 13.
Qatar’s men’s basketball team has a notable record, including its first-ever qualification for the 2006 FIBA World Cup in Japan.
The team also won back-to-back Asian Championship bronze medals in 2003 and 2005 and claimed the 2004 Asian Challenge Cup title. (QNA)
