Amman, August 23 (QNA) – The Qatar U-19 handball team continued their winning run at the 11th Asian Men’s Youth Handball Championship, underway in Amman, through August 31, defeating Iran 24-22 on Sunday in the third round of Group B.
Qatar secured the hard-fought victory after a competitive encounter in which the team successfully imposed its style of play and handled the match effectively. Tactical discipline, attacking efficiency and defensive cohesion proved decisive as Qatar edged Iran by two goals.
Qatar opened its campaign with a 30-22 victory over Saudi Arabia in the first round before overcoming Kuwait 30-19 in the second round, securing three consecutive wins.
The result takes Qatar to six points at the top of Group B. The team will look to complete a perfect group-stage campaign when it faces Syria on Monday in its final group-stage match. (QNA)
