Quran University Vice-Chancellor Receives Turkish TİKA Delegation, Discusses Reconstruction and Development Projects

Khartoum, Feb. 10, 2026 (SUNA) – Vice-Chancellor of the University of the Holy Quran and Islamic Sciences, Professor Mohi-Eddin Abdullah Hassan, received on Tuesday at his office at the university headquarters in Omdurman a delegation from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), headed by its Director Mr. Galip Yılmaz, and Projects Director in Sudan, Mr. Mohamed Othman.The meeting was attended by the university’s Secretary of Academic Affairs, Dr. Ayoub Abdullah Ali; Deputy University Undersecretary, Engineer Kamil Musaed Al-Mahi; Director of the Media Production Center, Dr. Mohamed Yousuf Ibrahim and Director of Public Relations and Media, Khalafallah Al-Imam.During the meeting, Professor Mohi-Eddin Abdullah Hassan underscored the strength of the educational and cultural ties linking the university with Turkish institutions, commending TİKA’s significant developmental role in supporting academic establishments.For his part, Mr. Galip Yılmaz expressed appreciation for the warm reception and affirmed the agency’s intention to expand partnership with the university in a manner that serves shared educational objectives.The Turkish delegation conducted an extensive field tour that included the Media Production and Training Center, where members inspected the studios of “Sawt Al-Mathani Radio.” They were received there by Registrar of the Center, Abdul-Samad Abkar, and Mohamed Hassan Abdulrahman.The visit also covered lecture halls, scientific laboratories, and health units at the Female Students Centers (A) and (B), where the delegation reviewed operational capacity and existing needs. They were received by the Director of the Female Students Center, Dr. Samia Tawfiq Salih; Dean of Student Affairs; Dr. Abu Al-Gasim Ahmed Omar; the Dean of the Faculty of Education; Dr. Arafa Mohamed Hamad, and the Deputy Director of the Female Students Center, Ms. Hanan Sir Al-Khatim.The visit came as a direct outcome of the Vice-Chancellor’s earlier visit to the agency’s headquarters in Port Sudan, during which the initial foundations for cooperation were laid and are now taking shape through practical reconstruction and infrastructure development projects across the university’s various complexes.BH/BH
