Amman, July 17 (Petra)- Ambassador of Japan to Jordan, Asari Hideki, on Thursday attended a handover ceremony of the “READ JAPAN PROJECT,” a book donation project held at Al Hussein Technical University (HTU).

HTU President, Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti, the university’s distinguished faculties and JICA Jordan Office attended the ceremony.

In a HTU statement, “READ JAPAN PROJECT” aims to promote interest and understanding on Japan by donating English language books about Japan to libraries and research institutions around the world.

To date, five institutions in Jordan have received books through this project since 2009, making this the sixth donation to the country. It is supported by the “Nippon Foundation”, and implemented by the “Tokyo Foundation”, affiliated to the “Nippon Foundation”.

In his remarks, Asari expressed his hope that the students and faculty members of HTU will develop a deeper understanding of Japan through the 129 donated books.

The diplomat also expressed his appreciation to HTU for their contribution in the academic and cultural collaboration between the two countries.

Prof. Al-Hinti, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the generous donation and emphasized the university’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and cultural awareness.

This event marked another step forward in strengthening academic and cultural exchange between Japan and Jordan.

The Embassy of Japan remains dedicated to supporting educational initiatives that build bridges between the people of Japan and Jordan through knowledge and cultural collaboration.
