Bucharest, July 25 (QNA) – Romania’s Ministry of Defense said on Saturday it had shot down a drone after it entered the country’s airspace, marking the second such incident in two days.
In a statement, the ministry said the drone was downed by an F-16 fighter jet over an uninhabited area near the Ukrainian border.
On Friday, Romania said it had shot down a drone inside its airspace for the first time since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in February 2022.
Romania, a NATO member, shares a nearly 600-km border with Ukraine. (QNA)
