Ramtha, Aug. 8 (Petra) — Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi on Saturday
attended a celebration held by residents of Ramtha District to mark
national occasions, at the invitation of former lawmaker Fawaz
Al-Zoubi.

The event was attended by lawmakers and senators, Ramtha District
Governor Mahmoud Braizat, tribal leaders and dignitaries, as well as
officials, community representatives and large numbers of residents.

Speakers at the celebration expressed their pride in the Hashemite
leadership and Jordanians’ support for His Majesty King Abdullah II
and HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II. They said national
occasions serve as important milestones for recalling Jordan’s
state-building journey and achievements; remembering the sacrifices
of parents, grandparents, and the country’s martyrs; renewing the
values of loyalty, belonging, and national unity; and continuing the
process of development and nation-building.

They also voiced pride in the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) and
security agencies and the sacrifices made by their personnel to
protect the country and safeguard its security and stability. They
stressed that Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership and with the
awareness of its people and the cohesion of its home front, would
remain strong and capable of confronting challenges and pursuing its
modernization and development agenda.

Former lawmaker Fawaz Al-Zoubi said Ramtha, with its long national
history, had remained an integral part of Jordan’s state-building
journey, loyal to the Hashemite flag and the principles of the Great
Arab Revolt and proud of the achievements of independence and what
Jordanians had accomplished throughout the country’s history.

He praised the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah and the Crown
Prince in serving Jordan and defending its interests and causes,
stressing that Ramtha’s residents would remain committed to their
country, rally around its Hashemite leadership, and contribute to its
development and achievements.

Al-Zoubi paid tribute to JAF and security apparatus personnel,
praising their sacrifices in protecting the country and maintaining
its security and stability, as well as the national role played by
retired military and security personnel and their contributions
during their years of service.

Retired Maj. Gen. Ali Al-Zoubi said national occasions were not
merely reminders of past events, but milestones that brought to mind
the country’s journey and the sacrifices of its people. He said
Independence Day, the anniversary of the king’s accession to the
throne; Army Day; and the anniversary of the Great Arab Revolt
embodied values of freedom, dignity, unity, and service.

Al-Zoubi expressed pride in the Crown Prince and his efforts to
support and empower young people, listen to their ideas, and
encourage creativity and achievement, stressing that youth are a key
pillar of Jordan’s modernization and development and the country’s
future.

He said retired military and security personnel remained proud of the
honor of serving their country, stressing that the end of military
service did not mean the end of their national duty. They would
continue to support the state and its institutions and serve as role
models for younger generations in discipline, loyalty, and sacrifice.

Retired Brig. Gen. Mohammad Ali Al-Bashabsheh said Ramtha’s
residents, like all Jordanians, had long been known for their loyalty
and sense of belonging, adding that the district’s residents had
remained engaged in the country’s journey and committed to its
national principles. He said direct communication between the
leadership and citizens and listening to their concerns represented
an established Hashemite approach.

Al-Bashabsheh said national occasions recalled Jordan’s
state-building journey and the sacrifices of generations that had
contributed to its development, paying tribute to the country’s
martyrs who had given their lives so Jordan could remain free, proud,
and steadfast in its positions and principles.

He also praised the personnel of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army
and security agencies for protecting the country’s borders and
safeguarding its security and stability, commending their dedication
and sacrifice in performing their duties.

Jamal Abu Obeid, chairman of the Ramtha New Municipality Committee,
said national holidays and occasions embodied pride in Jordan’s
state-building journey and provided an opportunity to renew the
values of service and belonging through education, work, and
achievement, strengthening the country’s progress and resilience in
the face of challenges.

Abu Obeid highlighted Jordan’s steadfast positions on Arab issues,
foremost among them the Palestinian cause, praising King Abdullah’s
efforts in international forums and his continued defense of the
rights of the Palestinian people and pursuit of a just and
comprehensive peace.

He also highlighted the progress Jordan had made under His Majesty
King Abdullah in political, economic, and social modernization and
reform, stressing the developmental and service role of
municipalities and governorate councils and recalling the historic
national role of municipal councils in building the Jordanian state
and consolidating its institutions.

Al Mukhtar Ghazi Abu Aqouleh, drawing on his experience of different
stages of Jordan’s history, reviewed some of the major
transformations the country had undergone, recalling the transition
from traditional religious schools to universities and from unpaved
roads to modern infrastructure, transportation, communications, and
urban development.

Abu Aqouleh said Jordan’s achievements were the result of cumulative
efforts by generations of Jordanians, guided by the wisdom and vision
of the Hashemite leadership. He said the country’s development had
been built through the dedication of men who served Jordan faithfully
and contributed to its progress.

He praised the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and security agencies
for the professionalism, dedication, and commitment of their
personnel, stressing that their sacrifices and vigilance would remain
fundamental to protecting the country and preserving its security and
stability.

Retired Brig. Gen. Bassam Al-Daraiseh said communication between the
Hashemite leadership and citizens represented an established approach
that strengthened national cohesion and reflected the leadership’s
commitment to engaging with people across the kingdom.

He said the Hashemite leadership had always been and would remain a
symbol of wisdom and moderation, stressing the importance of
preserving national unity and principles and standing together behind
the Hashemite leadership to strengthen Jordan’s resilience and
safeguard its security, stability, and achievements.

Al-Daraiseh said Jordanians would continue working and making
sacrifices for Jordan’s progress, prosperity, and development,
drawing determination from the country’s history and national
journey. He prayed for the protection of His Majesty King Abdullah
and the Crown Prince and for Jordan to continue enjoying security,
safety, and stability.

The celebration included a video presentation documenting key
milestones in the Hashemite-led process of nation-building and
development and the kingdom’s modernization across various sectors.
It highlighted major achievements during His Majesty King Abdullah’s
reign, his continued efforts to advance modernization, and his
attention to and support for the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and
security agencies and their role in protecting the country, its
security, stability, and achievements.

The event also featured folkloric and heritage performances by the
Ramtha Folk Arts Troupe, showcasing the area’s traditional cultural
and social heritage, and concluded with traditional dabke
performances that drew enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Poet Khaled Mayas recited a patriotic poem celebrating Jordan and its
Hashemite leadership, invoking themes of loyalty, belonging, and
pride in the country, as well as Jordanians’ awareness, unity, and
support for their wise Hashemite leadership. He also praised the
Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and security agencies as the protectors
and steadfast shield of the nation.
