Amman, Aug. 6 (Petra)– A Royal Decree has been issued appointing the
Royal Hashemite Court Chief and the Director of the Office of His
Majesty as members of the National Security Council for two years, as
of 7 August 2026, following the expiry of the two-year term specified
in the Royal Decree issued in 2024.
The National Security Council, established in accordance with Article
122 of the Constitution, is mandated with higher affairs relating to
security, defence, and foreign policy, and consists of the Prime
Minister, Minister of Defence, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister
of Interior, Chief of the Jordan Armed Forces Arab Army, Director of
Intelligence, Director of Public Security, and two members appointed
by Royal Decree.
