Amman, July 20 (Petra) – Marking the anniversary of the martyrdom of the founding king, His Majesty King Abdullah I ibn Al Hussein, the Royal Hashemite Documentation Center on Sunday published an official death notice dated July 20, 1950. The statement was originally issued by the Council of Ministers of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and addressed to the Jordanian people.
The document details the circumstances of King Abdullah I’s martyrdom, which occurred as he was heading to Friday prayers. The crime, described in the notice as treacherous, took place shortly before 12 noon on that day.
