AMMAN, Aug. 19 (Petra) — The Jordanian Association for Marathons
(Run Jordan) has announced the roll-out of an upgraded registration
portal linked directly with the Civil Status and Passports
Department, a move designed to verify runner data accurately,
streamline sign-up procedures, and advance digital transformation in
alignment with national administrative strategies.
Simultaneously, Run Jordan officially opened registration for the
2026 Orange Amman Marathon, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 2. This year’s
edition arrives on the heels of the marathon securing an official
international classification, a milestone that elevates the event’s
stature on the global running calendar and underscores the
organization’s adherence to world-class technical and structural
standards.
Run Jordan General Manager Lina El Kurd emphasized that integrating
the registration system with civil records marks a vital leap forward
in optimizing organizational efficiency and enhancing the runner
experience from the initial sign-up phase.
El Kurd expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Digital Economy and
Entrepreneurship for its collaborative support in completing the
technical linkage, highlighting the power of cross-institutional
synergy in advancing public digital services.
“Achieving international classification gives the 2026 edition
special significance,” El Kurd said, inviting local and international
athletes to gear up for the October race and experience Jordan’s
thriving long-distance running community firsthand.
