SCO Media and Think Tank Summit Opens in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, July 28 (QNA) – The 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Media and Think Tank Summit has opened in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, bringing together around 260 representatives from 150 media organizations, research institutions and government agencies from across the bloc.

The four-day event, which runs until Thursday, is being held under the theme “Shanghai Spirit in the New Era: From Shared Values to Practical Cooperation.”

Organizers said the summit aims to strengthen coordination between media organizations and think tanks to help combat misinformation, generate new ideas and initiatives, enhance information security within the SCO framework, deepen academic cooperation and foster closer ties among member states.

The summit is being jointly organized by China’s Xinhua News Agency and Kyrgyzstan’s Kabar National News Agency. (QNA)
