Secretariat of Sudanese Working Abroad Praises Protest Stand Against Berlin Conference

Khartoum, April 15, 2026 (SUNA) – The Secretariat of Sudanese Working Abroad (SSWA) issued a statement on Wednesday praising the protest stand by Sudanese abroad against the “Berlin Conference,” which is led by a regional power with the participation of an internal force acting contrary to the will of the people and the nation. The statement said that Sudanese communities and entities abroad collectively represent a map of Sudan and its societies across all states, villages, and rural areas, which grants them an inherent right to express their views and opinions, based on their engagement with and lived experience of the national cause, making them a natural extension of the voice of the Sudanese people inside the country. It added that the protest by Sudanese abroad in Berlin against the so-called Berlin Conference—led by regional powers in partnership with internal forces that have chosen to move in the opposite direction of the people and the nation—does not represent the Sudanese people. The statement further noted that this stand constitutes a legitimate right of expression, affirming that any political process that does not involve the state and the people is destined to fail from the outset. It added that the protest sends a strong and clear message to regional actors and their domestic supporters that the Sudanese people are resistant to guardianship, regardless of the scale of conspiracies against them. It went on to state that, in light of the Secretariat of Sudanese Working Abroad’s monitoring of Sudanese activities across various countries—activities described as a living pulse and sincere engagement with national issues—the Secretariat affirms that this movement represents a legitimate right to express views on national affairs, particularly the “Battle of Dignity,” a battle of all free Sudanese people, in which ranks have been clarified and those acting against the nation have been exposed. The statement concluded that Sudanese abroad affirm this national movement will continue to serve as a strong defensive wall against all plots against the country and its people.BH/BH
