Amman, Aug. 12 (Petra) – Security forces on Monday evening arrested several individuals who convened at a private residence in Irbid to discuss matters linked to the banned Muslim Brotherhood group.
An informed source told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the judicial police detained the individuals and referred them to the judiciary for legal action following the organized meeting, which had been monitored by relevant authorities. The meeting was deemed a violation of the law.
Since the group’s ban, security forces have detected attempts to bypass the prohibition by organizing gatherings under various pretexts, most notably in the homes of regular members of the banned group under the guise of “social events.”
