Amman, May 27 (Petra) – Senate President Faisal Fayez met on Tuesday with a delegation from the Polish-Palestinian parliamentary group, headed by Maciej Konieczny, to discuss Jordanian-Polish relations and regional developments.

During the meeting, which was attended by Polish Ambassador Lucjan Karpinski, Fayez praised the historical ties between Jordan and Poland and called for expanding cooperation across political, economic, and parliamentary spheres. He also commended Poland’s support for just Arab causes, particularly the Palestinian issue.

Discussing the escalating situation in the region, Fayez strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, describing it as a policy of genocide, ethnic cleansing, and forced displacement of Palestinians.

He urged parliaments and international legislative bodies to take firm, effective action to stop the violence and hold the Israeli occupation accountable for violations of international law.

Fayez highlighted the continued efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II to halt the aggression and support a just resolution to the Palestinian issue based on international legitimacy and the two-state solution.

He stressed the urgency of international recognition of the Palestinian state and the protection of Palestinian rights.

The Polish delegation affirmed the importance of enhancing ties with Jordan and commended the Kingdom’s role in promoting peace and regional stability.

They called for an immediate end to the Israeli aggression, opening humanitarian corridors into Gaza, and enabling agencies such as UNRWA and other humanitarian organizations to deliver essential aid.

Both sides underscored the need to intensify global diplomatic efforts to stop the aggression, lift the blockade on Gaza, and establish a political horizon that leads to a two-state solution viewed as the only path to lasting peace and security in the region.
