Senate Head welcomes “Nashama 2”, supports National Futsal Team

Amman, August 19 (Petra) – Senate President Faisal Fayez on Wednesday
welcomed Jordanian National Futsal Team, known as “Nashama 2,” which
is affiliated with the Association for People of Short Stature
Culture and Arts.

The meeting was attended by Senator Issa Murad, Head of the Senate’s
Labor and Social Development Committee, Senator Khawla Armouti, Head
of the Senate’s Women’s Committee, President of the association Luay
Samadi and Vice President Arin Al-Maghrabi, the team’s Technical
Director Adel Nizami, and players and administrative staff members.

The meeting addressed challenges facing the association and the
national team, as well as ways to enhance their presence and active
participation in various aspects of life, especially sports and arts.

Fayez called for providing an enabling environment that meets the
needs of people of short stature, pledging the Senate’s support of
the association and its noble goals, and the need for concerted
institutional efforts to solidify the rights of people of short
stature and facilitate their social integration.

He also urged support of short-stature players’ various activities,
encouraging them, and motivating them to make further accomplishments
in national, Arab, and international sporting events.

“People of short stature are an integral and creative part of our
national fabric, and it is our duty, both as institutions and
individuals, to work towards overcoming all obstacles that stand in
their way and ensure they have their rights guaranteed by the
constitution and laws, thus empowering them and providing them with
the dignified life they deserve,” Fayez told the meeting.

For his part, Samadi noted that the national team, founded in 2019,
includes 20 players from across the Kingdom.

He spoke about its participation in national events and its
achievements, notably a victory in the West Asian Football Federation
Championship for Short Stature.

He said “Nashama 2” is preparing for the Copa del Mundo de Talla Baja
(Short Stature World Cup), scheduled to take place in Rabat, Morocco,
from November 20 to 30, which will feature 24 national teams.
