Amman, Sep.17 (Petra) – Senator Haifa Najjar, Chair of the Senate’s Culture, Youth, and Sports Committee, met on Wednesday with a youth delegation from the RYS International Youth Action Platform to discuss their efforts in serving communities and promoting cultural and creative initiatives.
Najjar stressed that youth are central to Jordan’s modernization and development plans, stressing youth initiatives in strengthening national identity, fostering creativity, promoting volunteerism, and enhancing social cohesion.
She noted the Senate’s commitment to supporting programs to expand opportunities for youth creativity and excellence, adding that the committee monitors youth trends and coordinates with relevant institutions. She emphasized the contributions of people with disabilities, describing them as key participants whose creativity enriches the cultural and youth landscape.
Platform director Amr Abu Anqour outlined initiatives in culture, arts, technology, and community service, highlighting efforts to develop youth skills and commitment to contributing to national development and sustainable growth.
Youth participants expressed appreciation for the Senate’s engagement, noting that dialogue strengthens their confidence as active partners in shaping the future.
Senators Yahya Kasbi and Omar Al-Ayasrah underscored the importance of youth in fostering citizenship, loyalty to the Hashemite leadership, and enhancing skills in entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity, and digital technology.
