Amman, May 26 (Petra) — Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez met Monday with Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Chen Chuandong at the Senate headquarters, where the two officials discussed bilateral cooperation and regional developments, with a focus on the Gaza conflict and efforts to support a political solution.
Al-Fayez underscored the strength of Jordan’s relationship with China, describing it as a model of mutual respect and shared interests. He emphasized Jordan’s ongoing commitment to expanding collaboration with Beijing, particularly in economic and political spheres.
During the meeting, Al-Fayez also highlighted the need for coordinated international efforts to end the Israeli military campaign in Gaza and stop violations against the Palestinian people. He called on the global community to take serious, practical steps to uphold international law and support a just resolution.
Ambassador Chen praised Jordan’s balanced diplomacy and commended His Majesty King Abdullah II’s continued leadership in advancing peace initiatives across the region. He reaffirmed China’s appreciation for Jordan’s role in promoting regional stability and reiterated Beijing’s readiness to work closely with Amman to push forward international efforts to revive the peace process.
Chen also expressed China’s support for a two-state solution and its commitment to seeking a just and lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue. He described the current level of cooperation between the two countries as strong and steadily growing.
The meeting reflects the depth of diplomatic engagement between Amman and Beijing, as both sides seek to enhance strategic ties and respond to ongoing regional challenges.
