Amman, Oct. 18 (Petra) – Marking its 48th anniversary on Sunday, the
Social Security Corporation (SSC) unveiled plan updates to expand
coverage and modernize services.
The SSC announced that the number of active insured individuals has
surpassed 1.706 million, while cumulative retirees reached 424,520,
with monthly pension payouts now exceeding JD184 million.
Cumulatively, the corporation handled roughly 683,000 workplace
injury cases, provided unemployment benefits to over 485,000 workers,
and disbursed maternity benefits to nearly 92,000 working mothers,
including more than 38,000 beneficiaries under its childcare support
“Ri’aya” program.
The SSC said it would continue working to extend insurance coverage
to all workers in Jordan, using available government databases and
strengthening electronic links with relevant institutions to identify
and reach workers who remain outside the system.
To improve access to its services, the corporation pointed to its
“Include Yourself” service, social media channels and 24-hour call
center. It plans to introduce dedicated complaints and suggestions
sections through its smartphone application during the week, followed
by electronic payment services in the coming days.
The SSC said improving services for insured members, retirees and
employers remains a strategic priority. Upcoming upgrades will focus
on expanding digital services and making greater use of Jordan’s
developing technological infrastructure, including the Sanad digital
government application as a key access point.
The corporation added that its plans go beyond digitizing existing
services to developing smart, proactive services tailored to users’
needs, while using modern technology to streamline procedures and
improve service quality.
It said further expansion and modernization efforts would seek to
boost public confidence, preserve its central role in social
protection, and improve its ability to respond to changing needs and
future challenges.
