2026 will begin this Wednesday in the Wilayat of Sohar, North Al Batinah
Governorate. The two-day forum will convene participants from over 30 countries
alongside more than 750 attendees from within and outside the Sultanate of
Oman. These participants represent governments, international institutions,
major corporations, and economic and investment entities.
The opening of the event will be held under the patronage of Qais
Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones
and Free Zones (OPAZ).
Mohammed Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah,
emphasized that the forum constitutes a significant investment milestone,
reflecting the governorate’s and Wilayat of Sohar’s rising stature on the
regional and international investment map.
He stated that the forum will showcase over 50 investment-ready
opportunities, with a total estimated value exceeding RO 300 million. He
indicated that these opportunities have been professionally prepared based on
specialized feasibility studies, containing clear figures and data to enable
investors to assess economic viability and make informed decisions for direct
entry into feasible and scalable projects.
He added that these opportunities are primarily concentrated in
the industrial and logistical sectors, alongside several other economic sectors
to be presented during the forum’s proceedings. This, he said, reflects the
diversity and comprehensiveness of the investment portfolio and aligns with the
Sultanate of Oman’s strategic approach toward enhancing economic
diversification and increasing value-added.
The Governor of North Al Batinah affirmed that Sohar Investment
Forum represents an open invitation for investors and entrepreneurs from within
and outside the Sultanate of Oman to participate in its activities, closely
examine the presented opportunities, and establish substantive partnerships
that contribute to sustainable economic growth.
For her part, Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary of the
Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Investment
Promotion, affirmed that Sohar represents a successful model in attracting foreign
direct investment. She noted that investment inflows into Sohar Port and
Freezone over the past two years exceeded 4 billion US dollars, reflecting
international investors’ confidence in the economic and logistical foundations
provided by the Sultanate.
She added that Sohar Investment Forum constitutes a strategic
platform that gathers investors, partners, and decision-makers, and contributes
to deepening economic dialogue, forging partnerships, and shaping the future of
investment in Sohar, in alignment with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
On his turn, Eng. Said Abdullah Al Abri, Head of Oman Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (OCCI) branch in North Al Batinah Governorate,
highlighted that Sohar Investment Forum 2026 places particular emphasis on the
industrial sector as a primary driver of economic growth, alongside the
logistics sector, given their pivotal role in supporting supply chains and
enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy.
He noted that the forum aims to foster greater integration
between the public and private sectors and to open new horizons for local and
international investors by presenting clear, ready-to-implement investment
opportunities supported by precise data and specialized studies.
Sohar Investment Forum 2026 features an integrated program
comprising specialized presentations, dialogue sessions, business-to-business
(B2B) meetings, and an accompanying investment exhibition showcasing the most
prominent projects, opportunities, and initiatives in the targeted sectors.
The forum also benefits from the participation of numerous
international institutions and economic and financial entities, which enhances
its international dimension and opens broader horizons for cooperation and
cross-border partnership building.
