SOS Children’s Villages Jordan, WAFF sign cooperation agreement

Amman, May 20 (Petra) – West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) on Tuesday signed a cooperation agreement with SOS Children’s Villages Jordan to support the Kingdom’s community sector, consolidate sports investment as a development tool, and bring about “positive” changes that propel efforts to empower Jordan’s communities and people.

The signing ceremony, which took place Monday at the organization’s headquarters in Amman, was signed by WAFF Development Secretary-General Khalil Alsalem and Mustafa Wishah, the SOS Children’s Villages Jordan Chairman.

Under the agreement, the SOS children will take part in the WAFF-organized tournaments and receive support during these events and boost the sports role to engage in educational and interactive programs that enhance the beneficiaries’ skills and social integration within the SOS-held activities.

Alsalem said cooperation enhances opportunities for achieving “sustainable” development, empowering the SOS children, and opening “new” horizons for supporting the Villages’ beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, Wishah praised the partnership, which contributes to expanding the scope of the organisation’s work, particularly given the “vital” role of football in supporting the SOS children.

The SOS Children’s Villages Jordan, meanwhile, is committed to implementing “numerous” initiatives and programs to empower the beneficiaries and provide comprehensive care and a safe environment.
