Amman, Dec 10 (Petra)- Spanish Prime Minister Pedro S?nchez on Wednesday warned against ignoring the tragic situation of the Palestinians during a meeting in Madrid with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
S?nchez reiterated the necessity of advancing a two-state solution, describing it as “the only possible solution” to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and pledged to push forward efforts toward this outcome.
He said, “Yes, there is a ceasefire agreement, but it must be genuine, not formal. We will not rest as long as attacks against civilians continue and casualties persist.”
The Spanish prime minister affirmed his “support” for the Palestinian Authority, which he said should play a “central and essential role” in shaping the governance mechanisms that will determine the future of the Palestinian people, noting that “this year, which is nearing its end, has been terrible for the Palestinian people.”
