KHARTOUM, June 4, 2026 (SUNA) – State Minister at the Ministry of Finance Mohamed Nour Abdel Dayem chaired a preparatory meeting on Thursday with the National Islamic Endowments Chamber ahead of talks with officials of the Islamic Development Bank on the sidelines of the bank’s annual meetings to discuss challenges facing funded projects. The meeting reviewed the current status of projects financed with a total amount of $30 million from the Awqaf Properties Investment Fund (APIF), affiliated with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), which finances endowment projects under the lease financing formula. The projects include Parliament Tower, Daawa Authority Tower, Al-Azhari Complex, and Al-Majzoub Center. The meeting also discussed financing gaps and proposed solutions for completing and operating the projects, in addition to re-signing financing agreements following the transfer of the projects to the Endowments Chamber. The meeting aimed to unify the technical and financial position ahead of negotiations with the IDB delegation in order to reach solutions that preserve endowment rights and advance stalled projects.BH/BH
