Dakar, June 23, 2026 (SUNA) — The Minister of National Education of Senegal, Moustapha Mamba Guirassy, received the Ambassador of Sudan to Senegal, Abdal-Ghani Al-Naem, on Tuesday, where the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation in the education sector and ways to enhance it. Talks focused on strengthening collaboration between educational institutions, expanding scholarship opportunities, and promoting the exchange of academic expertise. The Senegalese minister expressed appreciation for the scholarship opportunities provided by Sudan to Senegalese students, commending Senegalese graduates of Sudanese universities and their contributions across various fields in Senegal. For his part, Ambassador Abdal-Ghani Al-Naem expressed gratitude for Senegal’s confidence in Sudanese universities, praising Senegalese students and graduates. He reaffirmed Sudan’s commitment to education despite the ongoing challenges facing the country, noting that the government continues to prioritise education alongside efforts to address external aggression. The meeting concluded with an agreement to facilitate student exchange, enhance cooperation, and expand the sharing of academic experiences, reflecting the longstanding historical relations between the two countries and promoting the desired African cultural integration.BH/BH
