On the sidelines of the WSIS Forum 2026 in Geneva, Sudan’s Minister of Digital Transformation and Communications, Eng. Ahmed Al-Dirdiri Ghondour, met with Dr. Ali bin Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary at Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology. The meeting explored opportunities for bilateral cooperation in government digital services, telecommunications, and the development of technical and institutional capacities to enhance digital services and improve public access to them. The minister outlined the country’s ongoing digital transformation efforts, emphasizing the importance of building technical partnerships with sister countries to strengthen public institutions and improve services for citizens. The two sides agreed on preliminary areas of cooperation in digital services, telecommunications, and capacity building, with the relevant authorities set to continue discussions to advance initiatives that serve the shared interests of both countries.BH/BH
