Sudan Participates in IsDB Annual Meetings in Baku

Baku, June 16, 2026 (SUNA) — Sudan is participating in the 51st Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, being held in Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku, from June 16 to 19, 2026. The Sudanese delegation is headed by State Minister at the Ministry of Finance Mohamed Nour Abdeldaim and includes Central Bank Governor Amina Mirghani Ali Al-Tom. Sudan’s participation reflects its efforts to strengthen cooperation with the IsDB Group and benefit from its financing and development programmes, particularly in areas related to economic recovery, reconstruction, infrastructure development, and the improvement of basic services. The Sudanese delegation is also expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with IsDB officials, representatives of member states, and development and financial institutions to explore financing opportunities, development partnerships, and support for priority projects during the next phase. The IsDB Annual Meetings are among the leading economic gatherings in the Islamic world, bringing together finance and economy ministers, central bank governors, representatives of financial and development institutions, and private-sector leaders to discuss sustainable development, Islamic finance, investment, economic integration, food security, energy security, and ways to strengthen cooperation among member states.BH/BH
