KHARTOUM, May 14, 2026 (SUNA) – The Executive Office of the Sudanese Olympic Committee held its first meeting after the war on Thursday at its headquarters in Khartoum, chaired by First Deputy Chairman Khalid Abdullah Hamd, in the presence of Secretary-General Eng. Imad Farouk and committee members, with the participation of Youth and Sports Minister Prof. Ahmed Adam. The meeting discussed reconstruction priorities, early preparations for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, and the “Olymp Africa” project, including reviewing and appointing directors for its centers. Khalid Abdullah Hamd stressed the importance of the current phase, calling for practical plans to rehabilitate damaged sports infrastructure. He also announced the formation of specialized committees to oversee reconstruction and implement required plans in the coming period.BH/BH
