Sweden summons Israeli ambassador to protest Tel Aviv’s refusal to allow aid into Gaza

Amman, May 26 (Petra) – Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced on Monday that his government will summon the Israeli ambassador to protest Israel’s refusal to permit aid into Gaza.

Kristersson told the Swedish news agency TT that the European Union should impose sanctions and apply diplomatic pressure on Israel to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.

“We have been very clear on this matter, both personally and in cooperation with many other European countries,” he said.

Kristersson also expressed support for reviewing the EU-Israel partnership agreement. Meanwhile, the French Foreign Ministry confirmed that 17 EU member states, including France, have voiced their support for reviewing the agreement, according to AFP.
