Tafilah, Sep. 15 (Petra) – The Tafilah Health Affairs Directorate has begun enrolling seven primary and comprehensive health centers in the Women-Friendly Health Centers Program.
The move follows Al-Aeys Comprehensive Health Center’s win of the Silver Award at the national level and accreditation as a women-friendly center. The program is implemented by the Health Institutions Accreditation Council in cooperation with the National Center for Women’s Health and supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
Mona Al-Amaira, Head of the Directorate, said the award is “a qualitative” achievement, adding to Al-Aeys Center’s previous accreditation for primary health care. She commended the staff’s efforts and commitment to quality, excellence, and safety standards in women’s health services.
She also said training and qualification for staff is underway at seven other centers to prepare their incorporation into the program, which seeks to expand integrated reproductive, maternal, child, and adolescent health services for women across Tafilah.
