Amman, May 28 (Petra) – The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization is expanding its Tama’nah (Reassurance) project, a flagship initiative designed to raise awareness about gender-based violence and provide psychosocial support to adolescents and adults across Jordan.
Funded by Human Appeal, the program is part of the organization’s broader commitment to strengthening community protection and promoting mental and emotional well-being. This year’s focus includes two main demographic groups: adolescents aged 12 to 17, and adults over 18.
The sessions are conducted in safe, engaging spaces that foster participation and honest dialogue. Adolescent-focused activities aim to build self-confidence, enhance emotional expression, strengthen communication skills, and increase awareness of gender-based violence and methods of prevention.
For adults, the program adopts a holistic approach to mental health, encouraging reflection on traditional gender roles, challenging harmful stereotypes, and promoting relationships based on mutual respect and understanding. Participants are also equipped with practical tools to cope with everyday stress more consciously and effectively.
Tama’nah is built on evidence-based approaches developed by specialists in protection, human rights, and family counseling. It reflects the charity’s ongoing efforts to create safer, more resilient communities by empowering individuals and fostering a culture of dignity, safety, and prevention.
