Salt, November 10 (Petra) – The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al-Balqa Applied University organized today, Thursday, the annual heritage exhibition for international students, with the participation of students from brotherly and friendly countries: the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Syria, Palestine, Libya, Lebanon, Australia and Pakistan, in addition to Jordanian students.
The President of the University, Dr. Ahmed Fakhri Al-Ajlouni, welcomed the representatives of the cultural attachés of brotherly and friendly countries, in the presence of Balqa Governor Dr. Firas Abu Qaoud, expressing the university’s pride in the international students studying at the university as its ambassadors in their countries, stressing that the university pays great attention to international students and is keen to provide suitable university environment for them.
Dr. Al-Ajlouni pointed out that Al-Balqa Applied University is working, in cooperation with the cultural attachés, to make Jordan a destination for Arab students to study in Jordanian universities and to attract students to study at Al-Balqa Applied University, which is considered a home university due to its spread in all governorates, and is unique in teaching technical disciplines that keep pace with technological developments that enable students to acquire High skills and competency needed by the regional and international labor market.
Al-Ajlouni indicated that the university seeks to conclude cultural and academic cooperation agreements with the cultural attachés in the embassies of brotherly and friendly countries to exchange students and attract them to study at the university, in addition to the fact that the university participates in all regional and international exhibitions and conferences that promote the university’s faculties and its various specializations.
In turn, the Dean of Student Affairs at the university, Dr. Khaled Al-Zoubi, stated that the exhibition, in which 13 expatriate communities of academic students participate in the university from brotherly and friendly countries, included the participants’ presentation of their country’s traditional dress, customs and traditions, and folk foods that reflect the national character of each sister country. And a friend participating in this exhibition.
The exhibition, which was attended by representatives of embassies and cultural attachés, professors, vice-presidents of the university, a number of official and popular institutions in the Balqa governorate and the local community, included a display of brochures, historical posters, popular foods, folklore and national dress, which reflect the customs, traditions and the good image of brotherly and friendly countries.
Participated in the exhibition in the Jordan pavilion House of Khairat Al-Salt, the Directorate of Culture of Salt and the Jordanian Society for the Preservation of Heritage, represented by the band Asala and Heritage, in addition to the Foundation for the reconstruction of Salt.
