There is strong desire in partnership with Syrian contractors, says JCCA head

Amman, May 26 (Petra) – Fouad Al-Duwairi, president of the Jordan Construction Contractors Association (JCCA), said that Jordanian contractors have a strong desire to enhance cooperation and coordination with their Syrian counterparts and to actively contribute to reconstruction and the new phase Syria is entering. He emphasized that Jordanian contractors are ready and willing to participate in projects that serve the interests of both peoples and promote comprehensive development and stability in the region.

According to a statement by the association on Monday, Al-Duwairi noted that Jordan’s construction sector possesses significant foundations that qualify it to explore cooperation with Syria in an initiative that represents a true catalyst and developmental opportunity for both sides. He stressed the ability of the Jordanian construction sector to offer fundamental solutions to Syrians, coinciding with Syria’s new phase. “The Jordanian contractor has the experience and competence to engage in qualitative and strategic projects within Syrian territories, addressing current needs from infrastructure and housing to energy, water, and other sectors.”

He added, “We have strategies and programs for ready-made buildings that contribute to quickly resolving the crisis, especially since Syria has been without reconstruction for a long time. New building codes and their application mechanisms have emerged and will be part of the contractors’ programs, which can be utilized as a fast solution for Syria’s crisis, especially given the difficult conditions and the return of refugees.” He highlighted the importance of ready-made buildings, which are characterized by low cost and rapid completion.

Al-Duwairi expressed optimism about finding a role for Jordanian contractors in Syria’s reconstruction projects, especially as Jordanian contractors are not new to the Syrian market, having been present for years before the crisis and involved in many projects.

He emphasized the importance of activating and forming a joint technical committee between the Jordanian and Syrian Contractors Associations, preparing a roadmap to facilitate logistical procedures between the two sides, and linking parties to ensure smooth workflow without obstacles.
