Amman, Dec. 5 (Petra) The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate said that rescue and medical teams from the West Amman Civil Defense Directorate responded on Friday to a gas leak inside a home in northern Amman.
The incident resulted in the deaths of three people and the injury of another who suffered from shortness of breath. Emergency crews administered first aid to the injured individual, while authorities opened an investigation to determine the cause of the leak.
The Public Security Directorate renewed its warning to citizens about the importance of inspecting heaters and ensuring their safety before use, regardless of type.
It also stressed checking the hose connecting the gas cylinder to the heater, replacing the seal each time the cylinder is changed, regularly ventilating homes, and avoiding leaving heaters on while sleeping.
The directorate further urged routine maintenance for boilers, their pipelines, and water heaters whether powered by electricity or gas and reiterated the dangers of sleeping with heaters running.
