Tkiyet Um Ali launches new school feeding initiative

Amman, Aug. 23 (Petra) – Tkiyet Um Ali (TUA) on Sunday announced its
“School Feeding-Date Bars” campaign at the start of the school year.

On its goals, the initiative aims to support the school feeding
program in Jordan’s public schools nationwide by providing a daily
healthy meal , which would enhance students’ focus and activity
levels in the classroom.

In a TUA statement, this initiative is part of its “strategic”
partnership with the Ministry of Education.

The campaign stems from TUA’s vision to achieve “a hunger-free”
Jordan, based on its belief that proper nutrition is a key pillar for
enabling children to learn and reach their full potential.

Served daily, the meal consists date bars made from 100% natural
ingredients, free from preservatives and added sugar, and rich in
fiber and natural energy, which supports students’ health to
continue their school day with energy.

The date bars are made by participants in Dar Abu Abdullah program,
an TUM-affiliated organization, as part of its economic empowerment
projects.

This model reflects the integration between the two institutions,
which combines economic support for families, enhances children’s
food security, and invests in education to achieve a “sustainable”
social and developmental impact.

To date, the program has proven its “positive” impact on
participating students.Based on program assessment results, student
activity and interaction improved in classrooms, and teachers
observed increased school attendance among a number of students.

The impact was prominent among students in the lower elementary
grades, underscoring the importance of providing a daily healthy meal
during the early years of education.

During the 2025/2026 academic year, the program successfully reached
3,811 students in 20 public schools across the governorates of
Jerash, Balqa, and Karak by distributing more than 547,000 date bars,
ensuring students received their daily meal during the program’s
implementation.

To ensure its success, TUM invites members of the community to
participate in supporting the program by donating half a dinar to the
school feeding program.
