Al-Gadarif, Feb. 3, 2026 (SUNA) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Dr. Nuwara Abu Mohamed, commended Al-Gadarif State Government for settling all outstanding financial obligations and implementing a wide range of development projects across the state.Speaking during a meeting of the State Government Council, chaired by Acting Wali Lt. Gen. Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, the TSC Member lauded the state’s pivotal role in strengthening food security, supporting the Armed Forces, and hosting displaced persons (IDPs). She underscored the importance of capitalizing on Al-Gadarif’s comparative advantages in agriculture and advancing value-added industries to boost sustainable economic growth.For his part, the Acting Wali reaffirmed the government’s commitment to comprehensive and sustainable development, as well as to improving service delivery throughout the state. He welcomed the TSC Member’s continued support and called for further assistance to complete strategic projects, notably a permanent water supply solution and stalled development initiatives in the eastern region, particularly in the health, electricity, and roads sectors.The meeting was also briefed on the state’s 2026 development plan and projects implemented in 2025 at a total cost of 162 billion Sudanese pounds.AS/BH
