Khartoum, March 19, 2026 (SUNA) – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, delivered an address to the Sudanese people, extending his greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. His Excellency also paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Armed Forces, their supporting units, and those mobilized in the Battle of Dignity, recognizing their dedication in defending the homeland and their tireless efforts to purge the country of the stain of rebellion. In the opening of his speech, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan said:”Greetings to you, the true bearers of civilization and the emblem of glory. You consistently exemplify to the world the values of loyalty, pride, and dignity, proving day by day that you remain steadfast against the enemies, united in adversity and trials. Today, you are steadfastly advancing toward the liberation of the homeland, the reconstruction of the state, and the revival of its spirit after the destruction and annihilation that enemies sought to impose upon it.”Addressing the members of the Armed Forces and supporting units, he added:”Our valiant soldiers in the Armed Forces, regular units, supporting formations, and mobilized popular resistance—you have earned the trust of the people and have met every challenge with determination, strength, and perseverance, cleansing every corner of our homeland from the stain of rebellion and those who threaten its security. You have embodied courage, sacrifice, and heroism, and your deeds will remain an enduring record in the history of the Sudanese nation.”He continued:”Undoubtedly, you have borne and continue to bear the consequences and repercussions of this war, enduring its heavy toll with pain and patience, offering your best in pursuit of a bright and secure future for your country. Therefore, our state leadership has committed to positively engaging with any peace initiative that meets security requirements without resurrecting the causes of war. Our hope remains that mediators and peace proponents will respond and assist in implementing the peace initiatives put forward by the Sudanese government, which meet the demands of the people by dismantling and eliminating any role of the rebel militias responsible for war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity, for the future of Sudan.”He emphasized:”We reiterate that there shall be no truce or ceasefire without ensuring the withdrawal and assembly of these militias in preparation for completing any peaceful process. Any peace plan must be comprehensive and accompanied by a timeline leading to lasting peace, leaving no armed group outside the official frameworks.”Addressing the Sudanese people directly, Al-Burhan stated:”We renew our pledge with you to work together to purge our country of the Al-Daqlo terrorist militias and their collaborators, and to stand united in building the state, completing its institutions, and establishing sound and disciplined foundations for normalizing civil life and ensuring peaceful transfer of power.”The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council further said:”We must thank the brotherly and friendly countries that have stood and continue to stand with the Sudanese people, supporting them and their legitimate institutions. We also reiterate our condemnation of the criminal aggressions faced by our brothers in the Gulf countries, Lebanon, Palestine, Turkey, and Azerbaijan, and affirm our full solidarity with them.”In conclusion, Al-Burhan paid tribute to the loyal sons and daughters of the Sudanese people who are working to restore life to the capital and other cities damaged by the hands of rebellion. He also honored the soldiers of the Armed Forces and the Sudanese people as they advance toward completing the cleansing of the country from the stain of rebellion, saying:”Our pledge is to move forward together until final victory, which is now within reach.”BH/BH
