President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has inspected a number of dormitories affiliated with the University of Khartoum, reviewing the damage sustained during the war and assessing their maintenance and rehabilitation needs. President Al-Burhan directed the immediate commencement of maintenance, rehabilitation, and preparation works to ensure the dormitories are ready to receive university students and provide a suitable environment for the resumption of academic activities. He also provided support for the rehabilitation of the dormitories and university facilities, affirming the state’s commitment to restoring higher education institutions, reviving their academic role, and enabling students to continue their studies in a stable educational environment. The TSC President was accompanied during the tour by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Khartoum, and was briefed on the ongoing arrangements for rehabilitating the university’s facilities, as well as its requirements and future plans. The visit comes as part of the state’s efforts to rehabilitate educational institutions affected by the war, create a suitable environment for students’ return, and facilitate the regular resumption of the educational process.BH/BH
