Khartoum, 12 March 2026 (SUNA) – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan met on Thursday with a delegation from the Alliance of Revolutionary Forces for National Issues.The meeting was attended by TSC Member and Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces General Yassir Al-Atta, and Director of the General Intelligence Service General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal.Member of the alliance’s Political Committee Nour-Eddin Salah-Eddin said in a press statement that the alliance submitted a memorandum to the TSC President expressing its desire to initiate dialogue with the Armed Forces as part of a broader dialogue process aimed at engaging the largest possible political and social bloc, in addition to the armed forces.He affirmed that dialogue is the only path to achieving optimal national consensus, which would serve as a bridge for Sudan to overcome the current crisis facing the country. He noted that the memorandum includes several key themes, most notably how to end the war in favor of a state based on the rule of law and institutions, in addition to addressing relations between civilian and military institutions and initiating a civilian pathway toward democratic civilian transition, as well as issues related to military development, justice, and transitional justice. Salah-Eddin added that the delegation received a positive response from the leadership of the Armed Forces, noting that the coming period will witness the formation of technical committees to examine these issues. He also said that parallel dialogue will be conducted with civilian forces and societal groups.He explained that this step comes within the framework of the alliance’s efforts to contribute to steering the country toward foundational national consensus.Salah-Eddin noted that the alliance includes several political organizations, foremost among them the Unionist Grouping, the Centre of Sudan Current for Change, the National Current, the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party – Sudan Country Leadership, the Youth Rights Movement, and the National Will Party. He added that the alliance will remain open to all political components that agree with the declaration of principles announced by the alliance.BH/BH
