Khartoum, August 25, 2026 (SUNA) — President of the Transitional Sovereign Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, received on Tuesday at the Republican Palace the credentials of Silvio Mignano as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to the Republic of Sudan, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salem.Al-Burhan welcomed the new ambassador and wished him success in carrying out his duties, as well as further progress and prosperity in bilateral relations between the two countries.For his part, the Italian ambassador said in a press statement that his country was determined to continue working for a united, peaceful, and prosperous Sudan, adding: “Italy will always stand by the Sudanese people.”BH/BH
