Port Sudan, 2 March 2026 (SUNA) — The Secretary-General of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Lieutenant General Dr. Mohamed Al‑Ghali Ali Yousuf, met today at the Council’s Secretariat with Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Sudan, Fateh Yildiz.The TSC Secretary-General expressed Sudan’s appreciation, on behalf of the government and people, for Turkey’s supportive role in various sectors across Sudan.In a press statement, the Turkish ambassador said the meeting focused on contributions Turkey could make toward the reconstruction of the old Republican Palace, highlighting Turkey’s readiness to play a major role in Sudan’s rebuilding efforts.He also pointed to previous work by the Turkish TIKA Agency in restoring several buildings in Suakin City, emphasizing the shared cultural heritage between the two countries.BH/BH
