Amman, August 12 (Petra) – Police detained two men involved in an
altercation that occurred in the Al Quwaysimah area on Wednesday
morning after videos of the incident went viral on social media.
The Public Security Directorate (PSD) media department stated that
the altercation broke out between two groups following a previous
dispute over vehicle repair fees.
Several people involved in the fight were apprehended, and medical
examinations confirmed that all were in good condition, with no
serious injuries or hospitalisations required, contrary to some
reports.
The PSD added that those involved were referred to the Public
Prosecutor, who ordered the detention of two individuals at a
correctional and rehabilitation centre on charges of assault,
property damage, displaying force and carrying bladed weapons.
