Amman, Sept. 9 (Petra) — The U.S. Embassy in Amman hosted a celebration on Monday to mark the 249th anniversary of American independence. Bringing together Jordanian partners, the event served as a reminder of the close ties between the American and Jordanian people that concretely benefit both our countries.
Peter Shea, the Chargé d’Affaires, delivered remarks at the country-western themed event honoring the founding of the United States of America and highlighting the strength of the U.S.-Jordan partnership.
“As we endeavor to make America stronger and more prosperous, it is clear that we can only do this together, and we can best do this together. America and Jordan complement each other, benefit each other, and support each other using each country’s unique strengths,” said Shea.
Chargé d’Affaires Shea noted the United States will celebrate its semiquincentennial, or 250th anniversary, next year and reaffirmed U.S. commitment to deepening cooperation with Jordan to address shared challenges and advance common goals.
