Abu Dhabi, May 19 (QNA) – The Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced that UAE air defense systems successfully detected and intercepted six hostile UAVs that attempted to target civilian and vital areas in the country, over the past 48-hours.
In its statement on Tuesday, the Ministry said that no human casualties or impact on the safety of vital facilities occurred.
As part of ongoing investigations into the attack on the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant recently, the Emirati Defense Ministry said that the results of tracking and technical monitoring confirmed that the three UAVs involved in the incident, along with those intercepted subsequently, had all originated from Iraqi territory.
It added that two UAVs were successfully intercepted during the attack on the energy plant, while the third struck an electricity generator outside the plant’s inner perimeter on that date. (QNA)
